"He (John Edwards) was elect to congress in 1837. He had a family of eight children, namely: John, Henry, Daniel, James, Mary, Ann, Margaret and Susan, all of which are now dead, James, the last survivor, having died in February of 1892. These children settled in and about the country between Johnstown and St Johnsville,"
