 | Joseph Piniaha and his oldest son, Tommy Piniaha left: Tommy Piniaha
right: his father, Joseph Piniaha
Our guess is that Tommy must have been cronically ill as a child, as we believe the location of this photo is the Pawling Sanatorium, in Wynantskill, NY - as another photo was taken on this same day of only Tommy Piniaha. If we estimate Tommy to be 6 to 10 years old, then the photos date range is from 1924 to 1928. |

His name at the bottom of the photo was written by his aunt, Veronica Piniaha Edwards. We do not know who wrote the notes at the top, the appear to read...
"Pawling Sanatorium, Wynantskill, NY"
If we estimate Tommy to be 8 to 10 years old, the photos date would be 1926 to 1928. |

Walter was born in 1926 and assuming that he is 1 or 2 in this picture, the photo would be dated at either 1927 or 1928.
Location appears to be the Edwards Farm, located at the top of Bolster Hill Road, Ephratah, NY.
