    Notes from Brian Abeling:
This appears to be another John Smith, similar age, same county, but I believe its a different branch of Smith...

This page includes John Smith, married with one boy under the age of 5 and one girl under the age of five.

My guess is that this is the correct John Smith - as the 1855 Census indicated that John lived in the area since 1815. In addition, John and Elizabeth had only 1 girl and 1 boy at the age of this census, and each child was under the age of 5.

By 1860, it appears that both John and Elizabeth passed away... as...

Their oldest daugter Martha is now married to Andrew Barkman, they have a child of their own and Andrew/Martha are now caring for Martha's younger siblings.

wife, Martha, age 23, born abt 1837
daughter, Lena M, age 3, born abt 1857
the rest are Martha's younger siblings...

Cyrus Smith, age 10, born about 1850
